City Cruise

The city of Roermond borders the beautiful Maasplassen, the largest continuous water sports area in the Netherlands. As a result, there are many fun activities in and around the water in Roermond. To really experience how big the Maasplassen area is and to enjoy your outing in a relaxed way, a city cruise is highly recommended.
You can step on board the boat in the centre of Roermond, at the Roerkade. Experience the beauty of this area for yourself with a round trip of about 70 minutes.

You can climb the tower of St. Christopher’s Cathedral every first Saturday from April to October. You can do so at 1.30pm, 2.30pm and 3.30pm (€3).

The cathedral’s tower is over 80 metres high. The last stop is at 75 metres (just below the bells). There you can walk around the spire and enjoy stunning views of Roermond and central Limburg. You will have plenty of time to enjoy the views and take beautiful photos and selfies!

The climb to the top and back takes about 45 minutes and has around 265 steps. Along the way, short stops are made at the concert organ, the five majestic bells and the former flat roof.

The famous architect Pierre Cuypers died more than 100 years ago, his work can still be admired in many places in the Netherlands and actually all over the world.
In his hometown Roermond you can admire his influence on the restauration of the Munsterkerk, he built the gazebo on the Munsterplein and off course his former residence and work studio. His former residence and work studio now are museum Cuypershuis, a contemporary and modern museum about him.
