Every week, Roermond’s squares are transformed into a lively setting of scents, colours and conviviality. For over 800 years, people have been gathering here to buy, sell, meet and enjoy themselves. That tradition continues today at the weekly markets in Roermond: on Wednesdays, you will find a cosy food market, and on Saturdays, the range of goods on offer is expanded to include all kinds of other items. The market traders are familiar faces in the city centre. They are there in all weathers, some of them for decades, adding extra colour to Roermond with their craftsmanship, friendliness and familiar stalls.

Weekly markets
Every week there is a weekly market on Wednesdays at Munsterplein and Saturdays at the Market square and Munsterplein from 9.30 am. to 4 pm.
The market features various types of stalls, including: fresh vegetables, fruits and fish, a bakery, pet supplies, (children’s) clothes, a poulterer, regional products, flowers and plants, jewellery and much more.
Antiques & flea market
From April till October, there is a flea market every Saturday from 10 am. to 5 pm. alternating between Munsterplein and Kloosterwandplein. Lovers of antiques can indulge in this accessible market.
Lovers of antiques and bric-a-brac will have a great time at this cosy market, where some will search for true antique treasures and others will look for special gifts.
Annual fair
Every 1st Saturday of September is the Annual fair in Roermond. What makes this the biggest market in Roermond? All market vendors are present on one day, on several squares and the stallholders’ competition is held:
The Saturday market with special offers on the Markt in Roermond and along Munsterplein.
The Antiques and Flea Market on Kloosterwandplein, featuring antiques and curiosities.
A special art market organised by the Melieve Foundation on Munsterplein, with 30 stalls run by artists showcasing their works.
The Record Market on Graaf Gerardstraat, featuring LPs, CDs and singles.
The Street Vendors’ Competition on Varkensmarkt and Steenweg. Street vendors enthusiastically present their unique products and are judged by an anonymous jury on originality, eloquence and perseverance. At around 4.00 pm, the winner of the street vendor competition will be announced at their own stall.
Throughout the city centre, including Stationsplein, there are stalls selling speciality products.
Local businesses in the city centre are also showcasing their wares outdoors at cosy stalls.
