Heated terraces & festive menus🍵
The blankets are ready and the heaters are on: the season for heated terraces can begin! Downtown restaurants and cafés in Roermond welcome you with revamped menus packed with winter specialities. Take a seat on one of the atmospheric terraces or in restaurants and treat yourself to a mulled wine, hot chocolate, festive dish or something surprising.
Dutch delights
It’s a tradition: festive Dutch delicacies like an ‘oliebol’. The ‘oliebol’ is Dutch sweet fried dough ball that is eaten on New Year’s Eve. A lot vendors not only have the ‘oliebol’ but also other sweet deligts like waffles, churros and macarons. Get yours at:
Banketbakkerij Lunchroom In De Kroon (Hamstraat 3): Frank and his team bake delicious ‘oliebollen’, and you can also get other tasty treats here (including flans, cakes, and pastries).
Oliebollen booth @ Stationsplein: Harrie and Karin with their booth have been a part of the Christmas season in Roermond for 30 years. They have more choices besides oliebollen, like churros, waffles and beignets.

Winter Fever Arena
The Winter Fever Arena is back from 27 November to 3 January 2027! The charming Munsterplein will be transformed into a true winter wonderland until Sunday 3 January. In the large pavilion (catering included), you can go roller-skating (almost) every day and enjoy both free and paid events and activities for young and old, such as: a visit from Father Christmas, a concert by a Big Band, Christmas drinks, a silent disco and an après-ski party.
Enjoy a ride on the Ferris wheel🎡
This winter, from 9 October till 17 January 2027, the Ferris wheel will once again light up the Roermond skyline. Step aboard the Ferris wheel in the courtyard of Designer Outlet Roermond and discover a unique view of the illuminated city centre, the outlet and the Maasplassen.
A ride on the Ferris wheel is possible when the Designer Outlet in Roermond is opened.
